Courtesy of Carole Bates
Carole Bates of West Hamlin made stuffed bears for each of her grandchildren from heirloom fabrics. Her granddaughters' bears are made from their great-great grandmother's quilt. The grandsons' bears are made from feed sacks from their great-grandfather's farm and are accented with tanned deerskin from Lincoln County. Pictured from left to right are: Victoria Bates, 13; Rachel Harries, 13; Megan Harries, 11; Gabe Bates, 9; Lauren Harries, 8; and Grant Bates, 17.
