The third grade at West Teays Elementary started a tradition several years ago to give to the community instead of exchanging gifts with one another. This year was no different for all five classrooms. The class of Barbara "Tootie" Black, pictured, brought in 120 canned food items and created 13 birthday bags filled with cake pan, mix, frosting, candles, cups, plates, tablecloth, party prizes and more. A mini-van full of canned food items and the birthday bags was delivered to the local food bank behind Forest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012.
