Cabell Midland wins its first volleyball tournament this year by defeating Greenbrier East in the third game, 25-22. There were 12 teams from around the state participating in this tournament at Greenbrier East High School in Lewisburg, W.Va. Cabell Midland coaches are Cindy Machmer and Kaylene Godbey.

Kelsey Willis, a junior at Huntington High School, and her horse, DJ Dancer, placed 4th at the Gemwood Horse Trials in Dayton, Ohio, on July 26 and 27. They are trained by Trista Cline.

Taking class at Huntington Sport and Commercial Diving Center by Dive Instructor Charlie Carroll proved a memorable experience and an achievement that Faith Hurula and her family hope to enjoy together for many years to come. Eleven year old Faith, a student at Fairland Middle School, completed the requirements for Junior Open Water Scuba Diver, PADI. She completed her open water dive requirements in Circleville at the Twin Quarries and logged two separate dive entries at depths of 25ft. Upcoming plans for spring break are underway where Faith will join her father, also certified and former Navy Diver and her mother for a vacation exploring the beautiful depths.
