O.J. Mayo might now be a member of the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies, but his roots are in the Tri-State, where he played in the Huntington YMCA Buddy League before moving to Rose Hill Christian School in Ashland then North College Hill in Cincinnati.
He graduated from Huntington High School in 2007 and attended the University of Southern California for two semesters before being drafted number three overall in the 2008 NBA draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Four hours after the completion of the draft, he was traded to Memphis in the draft's most blockbuster deal.
