Man arrested following hit-and-run
HUNTINGTON -- A man was arrested Thursday evening following a hit-and-run incident in Huntington.
Witnesses reported that a woman was struck by a vehicle just before 8:30 p.m. in the 500 block of 4th Avenue, according to Cabell County 911 dispatcher reports.
While emergency personnel responded to the scene, a Huntington Police officer had initiated a traffic stop with the vehicle for an unrelated offense, and dispatchers were able to relay the suspect vehicle description to the officer.
A person was arrested during that traffic stop, but it was unclear what charges that person was facing Thursday night.
Dispatchers said the woman was alert and walking around at the scene, but she was transported to a local hospital.
