'Wild and Wonderful Whites' to be shown at Cinema starting Friday

July 25, 2010 @ 10:40 AM

NEW YORK —  Tribeca Film, the distribution initiative launched recently by Tribeca Enterprises in partnership with American Express, announces that “The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia” will be coming to Huntington, beginning on July 30,  at The Cinema Theatre where the film will have at least a one week run.

Directed by Julien Nitzberg,”The Wild and Wonderful Whites ...” follows the tumultuous lives of the White family living in rural West Virginia.

From executive producers Johnny Knoxville and Jeff Tremaine comes a shocking portrait of Boone County, West Virginia’s most notorious and surly family. Nitzberg spends a year with multiple generations of the White family in this outlandish doc featuring the family’s dancing muse, Jesco White (star of the cult classic documentary “Dancing Outlaw”).

The 87-minute film also features Hank Williams III.

This film is truly jaw dropping and an intimate look into the lives of the controversial Whites – a notorious multi-generational criminal family from Boone County, West Virginia whose daily lives involve shoot-outs, robberies, gas-huffing, drug dealing, pill popping, murders, and tap dancing. Audiences have been captivated by this outrageous family and they are sure to excite the film’s hometown audience of West Virginia as well.

“We are excited this film will have the opportunity to play in Huntington, West Virginia and in the home state of this fascinating and controversial family,” said Nancy Schafer, SVP of Tribeca Enterprises.

 Tickets will be $3.
