Community gardens subject of meeting Sunday
HUNTINGTON — Members of Create Huntington, a grassroots effort to improve the city, will meet at 2 p.m. today at the main branch of the Cabell County Library on 5th Avenue to discuss community gardening.
Create Huntington is planning to work with the city to provide a training garden at its Weed and Seed Program center at the corner of Hal Greer Boulevard and 10th Avenue, said Jenn Williams, a member of the group.
Over time, the group would help Fairfield residents plant community gardens on vacant lots where dilapidated homes once stood, she said.
