Flood warnings issued for 2 W.Va. rivers
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Flood warnings are in effect for sections of the Cheat and Greenbrier rivers due to melting snow and expected rain.
The National Weather Service says the Cheat River is expected to exceed flood stage at Rowlesburg Friday evening. The flood warning is in effect through Sunday morning.
The Greenbrier River is expected to crest above flood stage at Alderson by Sunday morning.
Barbour, Nicholas, Randolph, Upshur and Webster and Pocahontas counties are under flood warnings through 7 p.m. Saturday because of potential small stream flooding.
Other parts of the state are under flood watches.
