Railroad society sponsors Greenbrier trip
The Collis P. Huntington Railroad Historical Society, Inc. is sponsoring a Greenbrier rail/motorcoach excursion Sunday, Dec. 2.
Travelers will depart from either the Huntington or Charleston stations and travel by Amtrak train to the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., traveling through the New River Gorge, and return via motorcoach with a stop at Tamarack.
The trip includes a buffet luncheon at the Greenbrier before a tour of the bunker built during the Cold War era to house Congress in the event of a nuclear attack. Time will be allowed to shop, walk the grounds or enjoy the holiday decorations at the Greenbrier before High Tea at 4:15 p.m.
Cost is $229 per person, and a limited number of tickets are available.
