Columbus man jailed in Ashland for selling crack to undercover cop
ASHLAND — A Columbus man is in jail after being charged with selling crack cocaine to an undercover police officer.
Jharel D. Kirkland, of 3022 David Court, Columbus, was charged a second degree offense of trafficking crack cocaine, after being arrested at the Ashland Inn just after midnight on Saturday.
According to a Boyd County Sheriff’s Department report, Kirkland sold four grams of crack cocaine to an undercover officer with the Boyd County Drug Task Force at the Ashland Inn.
Once the transaction occurred, deputies arrested the subject and located more crack cocaine and money in his possession.
The subject was transported to the Boyd County Detention Center.
