Flames damage Chesapeake home

CHESAPEAKE, Ohio — Flames damaged a Chesapeake, Ohio, residence early Thursday along Little Buffalo Creek Road.

A passerby noticed the fire just before 6:20 a.m. and alerted Lawrence County 911. The home is located 1.5 miles out Little Buffalo Creek Road, also referred to as County Road 59.

Dispatchers were unsure if anyone was home at the time. Injuries were unconfirmed just before 7:30 a.m.

The Fayette Township Volunteer Fire Department led Thursday morning’s response. Its members received assistance from volunteers in Chesapeake and South Point, Ohio.
