Police investigating robbery at East End pharmacy
HUNTINGTON -- Huntington police are investigating an armed robbery at the CVS pharmacy on 20th Street and 8th Avenue in Huntington’s East End.
The robbery occurred just after 11:30 a.m., according to Huntington Police Lt. John Williams. Two men walked into the store wearing dark hoodies that covered their faces. The two went through the store and eventually came to the cashier in the front of the store where they passed a note to the cashier saying they had a gun and wanted the cash from the register, Williams said. No gun was seen, Williams said.
Williams described the suspects as white males, one of them was 6 foot to 6 foot 2 inches wearing a tan jacket and blue jeans and the other was around 5 foot 10 inches wearing a Marshall University jacket and jeans. They fled north, crossing 8th Avenue in the direction of the train tracks, he said.
Detectives were interviewing witnesses and canvassing the neighborhood, including an area behind an ambulance company across from the pharmacy.
