7 years later, W.Va. sniper slayings unsolved
CHARLESTON — Kanawha County is marking another anniversary without closure since the murders of three people by a sniper.
The three were fatally shot seven years ago this summer, terrorizing the region.
Relatives and friends held a candlelight vigil over the weekend. They remain frustrated over the lack of arrests in the slayings.
Gary Carrier Jr. died first, shot while talking on a Charleston pay phone. Jeanie Patton was killed four days later while pumping gas on Campbells Creek. Okey Meadows Jr. was shot that same day, as he stood in line to buy milk in Cedar Grove.
Anyone with information should contact the FBI, the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department, or the Charleston Police Department. There's a $100,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.
