Charleston Area Reptile Expo set for Jan. 18
DUNBAR -- The Charleston Area Reptile Expo is planned for Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Dunbar Recreational Center, 2601 Fairlawn Ave.
The expo will feature snakes, geckos, chameleons, frogs, tarantulas, scorpions, hedgehogs and more.
Organizers said the expo is not only meant for the buying and selling of pets from beginner level animals to collector quality animals, but also to educate the general public on proper care as well as how docile the animals can be.
The expo will also feature children's activities including face painting and crafts as well as a raffle that will provide all its proceeds to USARK, the United States Association of Reptile Keepers.
The expo will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is $5. Children younger than 12 are admitted free.
