Lawrence blotter: Two arrested on burglary charges

IRONTON -- The following information was compiled from Lawrence County Sheriff's Department reports:

BURGLARY: Authorities arrested James W. Keller, 26, of Ohio 775, Proctorville, and Crystal D. Black, 22, of County Road 1, South Point on charges of burglary, complicity, theft and theft of a motor vehicle on Saturday. Both also face drug charges.

Dozens of household items, a Buick Regal, and a Lincoln were reported stolen and subsequently recovered. The items were valued at $18,050.

RAPE: An 8-year-old girl reported last week that a 17-year-old cousin touched her in an inappropriate manner a year ago. He was transported to the Lawrence County Group Home.

FELONIOUS ASSAULT: A 39-year-old woman told authorities two people were stabbed and had to be transported to the hospital. A man told her not to talk to authorities.

FORGERY: A 61-year-old Chesapeake area woman reported Monday that her son, who has a drug problem, stole a credit card and ran up $2,600 in charges. He admitted stealing more than $50,000 from his family over the past 12 years.

VANDALISM: A 28-year-old Proctorville woman reported last week that her brother punched her in the face and head a number of times. The man refused to get into the patrol car and threatened officers and banged his head on the cruiser. The 30-year-old South Point area man was charged with domestic violence, assault, resisting arrest, vandalism and disorderly conduct.

THEFT BY DECEPTION: A Chesapeake area man reported last week he wrote a check for $7,200 to Huntington Awning and Patio Shop for an awning, but no work has been done and the money hasn't been returned.

BREAKING AND ENTERING: A representative of the Chesapeake Little League reported last week that someone stole a portable scoreboard, four cases of pop and several boxes of candy. The items were valued at $1,835.

THEFT: A 49-year-old Proctorville area woman told authorities someone stole a revolver valued at $900 from her car in Rome Township.
