Thanksgiving service set for Sunday night

HUNTINGTON  — Huntington’s downtown congregations are conducting the annual Community Thanksgiving Service at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, at Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church, 513 10th St., Huntington. 

An ensemble of choristers from downtown congregations will present Carl F. Mueller’s “The One Hundredth Psalm” and will conclude the service with Peter Lutkin’s “The Lord Bless You and Keep You.” Choir members need to meet at 5:15 p.m. to rehearse. 

Rabbi David E. Wucher of B’Nai Sholom Congregation will deliver the evening homily. Participating church congregations include B’Nai Sholom Congregation, Central Christian, Ebenezer United Methodist, Fifth Avenue Baptist, First Baptist, First Congregational, United Church of Christ, First Presbyterian, First United Methodist, Johnson Memorial United Methodist, Muslim Association of Huntington, St. George Greek Orthodox, St. Joseph Catholic, St. Paul Lutheran and Trinity Episcopal.
