November 27, 2009 @ 11:38 AM

HUNTINGTON — Right behind eating turkey and pumpkin pie, and watching The Detroit Lions get whipped like a bowl of mashed potatoes is the Thanksgiving Weekend tradition of taking the kids to the Veterans Memorial Field House to see the trains.

This weekend marks the 52nd annual Appalachian Model Railroad Society Model Train Show.

The show, which runs, 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, and noon to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, features a ton of model railroad layouts, books, memorabilia and model trains for sale at the Veterans Memorial Field House, 2590 5th Ave., Huntington.

Adult admission is $5 and children (under 12) $1. Call 304-429-1432 or 304-429-3885. Go online at www.ghprd.org and click onto the Field House for more info.
