Miss Kentucky USA pageant this weekend
DANVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Miss Kentucky USA Maria Montgomery is preparing to crown her successor this weekend in front of a familiar crowd.
The 20-year-old Montgomery will make her farewell speech Sunday during the Miss Kentucky USA Pageant being held in her hometown of Danville.
Montgomery tells The Advocate-Messenger of Danville that she’s flown more than 30,000 miles since she won the pageant last year, and she still managed to stay on the dean’s list at Eastern Kentucky University, where she is studying to become a speech pathologist.
