International performers coming to Marshall

HUNTINGTON — Due East, which has performed in Brazil, Europe, Canada and throughout the United States, will perform at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, in the Jomie Jazz Center at Marshall University.

Due East is composed of percussionist Greg Beyer and flutist Erin Lesser. Both have won national and international awards.

Beyer is an assistant professor of percussion at Northern Illinois University, while Lesser recently completed a two-year fellowship in The Academy, a program run by Carnegie Hall, the Julliard School and the Weill Music Institute. She also is a Pearl Flute Performing Artist.

The concert also includes Kristine Marx, a video and installation artist based in New York City. She has had solo exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles and Berlin.
