Ky. Board of Education pares field for chief to 4
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — The Kentucky Board of Education has narrowed the list of candidates for state education commissioner to four candidates.
The Department of Education on Friday announced the finalists are:
— Dennis W. Cheek, senior fellow at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City, Mo.
— Terry Holliday, superintendent of Iredell-Statesville Schools in Statesville, N.C.
— Catherine Cross Maple, deputy cabinet secretary for the New Mexico Public Education Department.
— Michael Sentance, who was the secretary’s regional representative at the U.S. Department of Education from 2001 to January 2009.
