Arbor Day tree planting set for Thursday
HUNTINGTON — The Cabell County Commission and city of Huntington will recognize Arbor Day by planting trees on the Cabell County Courthouse grounds at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 25.
A representative with the West Virginia Department of Forestry also will attend the event and present the city with a Tree City USA certificate and flag.
The Arbor Day Foundation named Huntington as a 2012 Tree City USA last week in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management. It is the 13th year that Huntington has earned the designation.
The public is invited to Thursday’s event.
