Medicaid Expansion forum set for April 7

Apr. 05, 2013 @ 11:02 PM

CHARLESTON -- People throughout West Virginia are invited to a forum and training on Medicaid Expansion, planned Sunday, April 7, in Charleston.

Registration and refreshments begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, and the event will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Christ Church United Methodist, 1221 Quarrier Street, East. The speaker will be West Virginia Senate President Jeff Kessler.

According to the West Virginia Center on Budget and Policy, Medicaid Expansion will give 120,000 uninsured, low-income West Virginians access to health insurance coverage through Medicaid, create about 6,200 new jobs throughout West Virginia in 2016, and bring in billions of new health care dollars by drawing down federal funding and increasing jobs and economic activity.
