Junior art class offering after-school instruction

November 23, 2009 @ 12:00 AM

HUNTINGTON -- Students who are homeschooled or just want more than the standard art class have some options available.

One of those is Junior Art Class for School Age Artists, held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. each Wednesday in the Renaissance Center Art Gallery, 8th Street and 9th Avenue.

Instructor Susan A. Tschantz said for the rest of the year, students will be working storyboards for a comic book project.

"At every age, we know what we like," she said. "Your opinion is just as valid as anyone else. The only point of view that matters is the artist."

Classes are $10 each week, but Tschantz encourages parents to sign up their children for at least one month.

For more information, call her at 304-757-3241 or the gallery at 304-525-3235. You can also e-mail her at stschantz@suddenlink.net.
