CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — A state coalition is honoring efforts to end domestic violence.
The West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence will hold an awards ceremony Thursday evening at the Charleston Marriott.
Several individuals are being recognized along with the nonprofit Kanawha Institute for Social Research & Action.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The coalition says at least 38 domestic violence-related deaths have occurred in West Virginia over the past year.
