Wayne National Forest to share in trail grants
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Fourteen recreation trails in Ohio will share almost $1.7 million in federal funds to update pathways, provide educational supplies and improve access for those with disabilities.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, which administers the federal grants, recently announced the recipients.
The funds will go toward creating and maintaining trails in the Wayne National Forest, in addition to constructing pathways in suburban Columbus, Bowling Green and elsewhere.
The reimbursement grant program provides up to 80 percent of a project's funding. Money for the program comes from a portion of the federal motor fuel excise tax.
