W.Va. event highlights sustainability efforts
ROANOKE, W.Va. (AP) — Sustainability projects will be highlighted during a conference at Stonewall Resort.
The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday in Roanoke. It is expected to showcase resource networking along with statewide projects on subjects including energy efficiency, local food, job training and historic renovation.
In 2006, the state Department of Environmental Protection began the West Virginia Sustainable Communities project by sending young people from diverse backgrounds to work on community-based sustainability efforts.
