Food bank benefit Home Runs 4 Hunger game rescheduled

Aug. 19, 2013 @ 11:06 PM

HUNTINGTON -- Sunday's Home Runs 4 Hunger celebrity softball game at the Dot Hicks Softball Complex on 3rd Avenue was postponed due to rain.

The game has been rescheduled for 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8. Gates will open at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 or $3 with a canned food donation.

The game, now in its second year, features local celebrity teams led by Chris Miller of Dutch Miller Kia and Jason Moses of Moses AutoMall Huntington. The two dealerships teamed up to raise money and collect food donations for the Huntington Area Food Bank.

"The great thing about having to reschedule this event is it gives us more time for fundraising and collecting canned food donations," Miller said.

Donations will still be accepted by calling the Huntington Area Food Bank at 304-523-6029 or by visiting the Moses AutoMall Huntington or Dutch Miller Kia dealerships.
