Milton Baptist Church sponsoring concert

August 28, 2010 @ 09:35 AM

MILTON — A church in Milton is sponsoring a free concert that officials hope will help convey the message of the gospel.

Tracy Mills, youth pastor at Milton Baptist Church, said the relatively new band Revive will play at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at the new entertainment building at the West Virginia Pumpkin Park in Milton.

Mills said he met band members this summer at the West Virgina Baptist Convention, where he was a speaker for a camp.

“We saw this as an opportunity to reach out to teenagers and young adults,” Mills said.

The band currently has a song, “Blink,” heard daily on KLove -- a national Christian music station with several FM signals in the Tri-State, including 91.9. That song and many others will be a part of the concert, said Mills, who will give a 20-minute message between the band’s sets.

He is prayer is really that this event helps reach young people who may not know a lot about Jesus.
