Student vaccines requested by May 16

HUNTINGTON -- Cabell County Schools is asking parents of current sixth- and 11th-graders to submit their child's Tdap and meningococcal vaccine records to their schools on or before May 16.

The vaccines are required by state law for the first day of the 2013-2014 school year. Without these shots, students will not be permitted to attend the first day of school.

Although submission of immunization records is not technically required until the first day of school on Aug, 8, the school system is requesting parents submit these records by May 16 to allow time for the large volume of records to be processed.
