Conservation grants awarded to W.Va. projects
CHARLESTON -- More than $450,000 in Land and Water Conservation grants have been awarded to programs throughout the state that support community development and improvement projects that provide a suitable living environment and expand economic opportunities.
Locally, the city of Hurricane was awarded $48,600 for the design and construction of a "splash-ground" at Hurricane City Park. A multi-county grant of $35,000 was awarded to Legal Aid of West Virginia for a one-year pilot project to provide West Virginia's first fully-staffed legal support project for veterans and military families.
