Campaign Trails: Putnam Chamber hosting candidate forum, luncheon
CANDIDATE LUNCHEON: The Putnam County Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a candidate forum and luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, April 29.
The event will be at the Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Hurricane, W.Va. The purpose of the event is to promote the understanding of issues and create a familiarity with candidates for public office.

BIAS TO BE ON FOX NEWS: Lee Bias, a Republican candidate in West Virginia’s 3rd Congressional District, will appear on “Fox and Friends” on The Fox News Channel at 6:15 a.m. Thursday, April 29.
He will appear on the program with Matt Lockett, a Republican congressional candidate from Kentucky. Both will discuss the Conservative Freshmen Coalition, a group created by the two featuring conservative congressional candidates.
Bias, Marty Gearheart, Conrad Lucas and Elliott “Spike” Maynard face off in the Republican primary. Rep. Nick Rahall, D-W.Va., faces Bruce Barilla in the Democratic primary.
GROUP PRAISES MAYNARD: Spike Maynard, a Repubican candidate in West Virginia’s 3rd Congressional District, has signed the Americans for Prosperity “No Climate Tax Pledge,” according to a release from the organization.
The pledge is one of more than 500 lawmakers and candidates on the federal, state and local levels pledging to “oppose legislation relating to climate change that includes a net increase in government revenue,” the release says.
Lee A. Bias, Marty Gearheart, Conrad Lucas and Maynard face off in the Republican primary. Rep. Nick Rahall, D-W.Va., faces Bruce Barilla in the Democratic primary.
