The Wilds plannings Wildzfest for next weekend

CUMBERLAND, Ohio — The Wilds is gearing up for another season and to kick it off they wanted to start it off with some springtime family fun. In addition to tours, fishing and zip-lining, there will also be Wildzfest presented by Pepsi with support from AEP.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 18, there will be entertainment, food, drinks, games, crafts and other attractions for the young and the young at heart.
There will be meet and greets with Dora the Explorer and Diego.  Meet 'N Greet Times are: 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. *Dora and Her cousin Diego will only be out for 30 minutes each time and will try their best to get to meet as many people as they can.
Columbus Zoo and Aquarium character ambassadors Fernando G. Frog and Otto Ostrich will be strolling around and posing for photos. Appearance times are: 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

There will be free animal presentations: Meet some of the animals that you may see on the Animal Encounters tours here at the Wilds.
Appearance times are:  11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m.

Lend A Hand Puppet Shows:10-minute puppet comedies for the whole family. In this show, a human gets terrific tips about how to help with wildlife - from some very unexpected new friends. Show Times: 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4 p.m.
Tours are: Open Air Safari, Safari Transport, Wildside Tour These exciting tours are available the day of, but can be booked in advance by going to thewilds.org. Some tours are limited so booking early is recommended.
There is more to do at the Wilds other than the tours. Guests can enjoy zip-lining and fishing.  Pre-registration on-line is required at thewilds.org *please note that fishing reservations need to be done on-line at least 72 hours in advance.
There will also be a wide range of animal fun in the education zone at stations presented by the Education Department at the Wilds.
 Racing Roaches - Cheer the Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches on to victory.
 Flower Power - Plant a seed to take home for your garden.

Invasive Species - Learn about the effects of invasive species on a native ecosystem, how to remove them and how they can be used to create various works of art.

Snakes are our Friends - Stop by and meet one of our snake ambassadors and learn more about these amazing reptiles.
There are also lots of games including: Plinko, Pepsi Cola Bottle Ring Toss, Duck Pond, Safari Africa High Striker,  Fernando's Frog Hop
These games are included with the purchase of a $5 Wildzfest Wristband and have great prizes!
Local vendors will also be on hand during the celebration of spring with some specialty items.  Jamberry Nails, Origami Owl, Art by Gary Graham, Pampered Chef, Thirty One Gifts, From Head to Bows, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, Phillips Concessios, Pap’s Kettle Corn and Boy Scouts of America
