HUNTINGTON -- The body of a man believed to be in his 30s was discovered inside a vehicle in the Walmart parking lot in the 3300 block of U.S. 60 Thursday afternoon.

West Virginia State Police Sgt. G.N. Losh said surveillance video indicated that the car had pulled into the parking lot more than 36 hours before the death was reported.

"A customer was walking in, and saw this guy not moving in his car, and then the customer walked out later, and the guy was in the same position, and the customer thought it was odd, because the car wasn't running and it's so hot out," Losh said.

The customer then alerted authorities about 4 p.m.

Losh said the victim was found leaning back in the driver's seat.

The name of the victim was not initially being released, pending notification of next of kin.

Losh said the body will be sent to the state Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy to determine a cause of death.

In the meantime, he said he and other investigators will go through the more than 30 hours of surveillance tape to try and find out what happened.

"We have some investigating to do, but we don't really suspect any foul play or anything like that," Losh said.
