Boyd library's Story Lady, Pictures in the Park set for July 12

ASHLAND -- Boyd County Public Library's monthly Story Lady and Pictures in the Park is planned for Friday, July 12.

The event is generally on the first Friday of the month during the summer, but this month's event was delayed due to Summer Motion events.

The Story Lady will be at 6 p.m. at the Highlands Museum & Discovery Center, 1620 Winchester Ave. Admission to the first floor of the museum will be free that evening, so families can explore the displays and exhibits.The program is for all ages of children, and will include stories and a craft.

Pictures in the Park will be held at 9:30 p.m. "Independence Day" will be shown on a large outdoor screen in the grassy area outside of the Main Branch.

The movie is free and snacks are provided. Attendees should bring their own chairs and blankets.

"Independence Day," rated PG-13, is a 1996 sci-fi film about humans fighting aliens who attack the planet.

The Story Lady and Pictures in the Park will return for the final time this summer. The Aug. 2 movie is "Raiders of the Lost Ark."
