Ohio man charged with rape of teenager
PORTSMOUTH, Ohio -- Detectives with the Scioto County Sheriff's Office arrested a Portsmouth, Ohio, man Monday on charges he raped a 16-year-old girl, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
Anselmo Reyes Soria, 50, of Portsmouth, Ohio, was charged with one count of rape. He was lodged in the Scioto County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
Authorities received information this week that a teenage girl had been sexually assaulted for several years, according to the release.
Detectives talked to witnesses and possible victims as part of an investigation. Authorities were told that several individuals from the ages of 9 to 12 were claiming to be sexually assaulted by the same suspect, according to the release.
Detectives also were able to determine that the suspect has been living illegally in the United States for the past 15 years, according to the release.
The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges will be presented to an upcoming Scioto County grand jury, according to the release.
