W.Va. man pleads guilty to murdering wife
BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (AP) — A 71-year-old Lindside man has pleaded guilty to killing his wife and step-daughter.
WVAA-TV in Bluefield reports that Gerald Allison entered a plea to first-degree murder for the 2011 shooting death of his wife, 65-year old Dorothy Masters.
He pleaded to second-degree murder for the death of 42-year old Melissa Burks-Wills.
Allison had previously admitted to killing the two women with a rifle at his home.
Police say the shooting was witnessed by Burks-Wills’ eight-year-old child.
Allison will be sentenced next month.
