Proctorville area woman reports break-in, stolen property

IRONTON — The following information was compiled from Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department reports:

A 39-year-old Proctorville area woman reported last week someone broke into her home and stole jewelry, a vacuum cleaner, a coffee pot, a camcorder and a man’s watch. The items were valued at $4,960.

BURGLARY: A 27-year-old Proctorville area man reported last week someone broke into their home in Union Township and stole a pistol, some jewelry and a checkbook. The items were valued at $2,150.

BURGLARY: a 54-year-old South Point area man reported last week someone broke into his home in Perry Township and stole a 52-inch television valued at $1,400.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: A 22-year-old South Point area woman reported Saturday her live-in boyfriend hit her, knocking her to the floor and then got on top of her and hit her several more times. She said he also kicked her and banged her head on the floor and broke her phone so she couldn’t call authorities, and then broke out the windows on her vehicle.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Timothy E. Powell, 38, of 227 County Road 407, South Point, on charges of domestic violence, disrupting public service and criminal damaging and transported him to the Lawrence County Jail in Ironton.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: A 33-year-old South Point area woman reported last week that her former boyfriend threatened to kill her. He told authorities she also threatened to kill him, and both of them were arrested on a charge of domestic violence and transported to the jail.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: A 27-year-old Crown City area woman reported earlier this month her ex-boyfriend grabbed her by the throat, knocked her to the floor and hit her in the side, banged her head on the floor and punched her.

BREAKING AND ENTERING: Sheriff’s deputies reported Saturday that while responding to a break-in call, Steven G. Johnson, 37, of Ashtabula, Ohio, was found inside a vacant residence and charged with breaking and entering and transported to jail.

THEFT: A 35-year-old Willow Wood area woman reported Friday someone stole her son’s go-cart valued at $2,000 from their yard in Mason Township.

THEFT: A 63-year-old Chesapeake area man reported Friday someone stole a trailer valued at $2,000 from his property in Union Township. 

PETTY THEFT: Sheriff’s deputies arrested a 27-year-old South Point area man on a misdemeanor charge of petty theft and transported him to the jail. He is charged with taking a compound bow, a jacket and a carrying case. The items were valued at $750.
