MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — A Marine who made a 100-day, cross-country run earlier this year to support the Wounded Warrior Project is among the speakers at a veterans’ event in Morgantown.

Jamie Summerlin raised $50,000 for veterans’ causes with the help of donors across the country.
West Virginia University is holding its annual veterans appreciation breakfast Monday at the Erickson Alumni Center.

The head of the state’s National Guard, Maj. Gen. James Hoyer, is the keynote speaker for the breakfast. Hoyer commands more than 6,500 members of the West Virginia Army and Air National Guard.

The event is hosted by the President’s Office for Social Justice and Division of Human Resources.
