Fire destroys mobile home near South Point
SOUTH POINT, Ohio -- Fire destroyed a mobile home and damaged two others early Wednesday near South Point, Ohio.
Lawrence County 911 received word of the fire about 5:30 a.m. The mobile home was located in the 400 block of County Road 1, west of South Point village limits.
Dispatchers said the fire was called in by a neighbor. Crews arrived soon thereafter to find the mobile home fully involved in fire, said South Point Fire Chief Mark Goodall. His volunteers assisted the lead response of the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department.
No injuries were reported.
Goodall described the mobile home as a total loss. The intense fire additionally caused heat damage to the neighboring mobile homes, however Goodall said they could be occupied.
The Coal Grove Volunteer Fire Department also provided assistance at the scene.
