Diabetes center to offer cooking demonstration
HUNTINGTON -- The Joslin Diabetes Center will offer a diabetic cooking demonstration from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at the Marshall Community & Technical College's Cooking & Culinary Institute on 3rd Avenue across from Pullman Square in Huntington.
The event is part of National Diabetes Awareness Month. The Joslin Diabetes Center is an education affiliate at St. Mary's Medical Center.
The event costs $30 per person and will offer dishes such as skinny guacamole with flour tortilla chips, oven-baked Mexican chicken with melon salsa, Taos two-bean and rice salad served in roma tomato, corn pudding and sautéed peaches with apricot sauce.
