Habitat for Humanity hosts tool drive
HUNTINGTON — The Huntington Area Habitat for Humanity in partnership with the affiliate’s ReStore has launched a “tool drive” at Lewis Memorial Baptist Church through Sunday, Feb. 1.
Tool drive donors are asked to clean out their tool box, garage, basement or closet and look for duplicate or seldom-used tools such as hammers, pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pry bars, squares, utility knives, saws, tool belts, electric or rechargeable drills and bits, or miscellaneous boxes of hardware. Participants may also purchase new tools to donate.
Donors can drop off tools at the Lifebridge Ministry building located on the church grounds at 5385 West Pea Ridge Road.
While the local organization continues to provide safe, decent and affordable housing, it also operates the Habitat ReStore. The ReStore, a home-improvement resale and donation center, and the affiliate are both in desperate need of new and used tools. Volunteers would benefit from the donated tools on the construction site, while the store will ensure that neighbors receive the tools at a fraction of the original cost.
