MCTC students receive scholarships
HUNTINGTON -- Mountwest Community and Technical College students Matthew DeMoss and James Turner were recently awarded $2,000 scholarships by Grainger, a local distributor of facilities maintenance supplies.
DeMoss and Turner were two of 200 students in the United States offered the Grainger Tools for Tomorrow scholarship this year. When both students graduate from Mountwest Community and Technical College, they also will receive a customized Westward toolkit from Grainger, valued at more than $1,000.
"Today's Mountwest technical education students will become tomorrow's industrial skilled tradesmen, dedicated to keeping the Huntington community working and growing," Randy Taylor, manager of Grainger's branch in Huntington, said in a release. "One of the best ways to invest in local community is to contribute to the education of our future tradesmen and women."
