WVa man charged with killing 3-year-old son
BECKLEY, W.Va. -- A West Virginia man has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting death of his 3-year-old son.
Gary Wayne Garretson of Coal City is charged with death of a child by a parent or guardian by abuse.
Sgt. Larry Lilly, chief of detectives for the Raleigh County Sheriff's Department, says police were called to Garretson's residence Saturday afternoon, where they found the child dead.
Lilly did not disclose other details of the incident, including the name of the boy.
The 44-year-old Garretson is being held at Southern Regional Jail. According to the Raleigh County Magistrate Court clerk's office, he does not have an attorney listed.
