Appalachian Children's Chorus show set for Dec. 4
CHARLESTON — The Appalachian Children’s Chorus (ACC) will present the 2009 Holiday Concert with Friends: Peace on Earth Friday, December 4 at 7 p.m. at the Clay Center.
The concert features all seven ACC choirs, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Male Chorus, Arts in Action and Randall Reid-Smith. This family-friendly event is sponsored by Huntington Banks.
The first selection of the evening will feature all of the ACC choristers singing My Favorite Things, so cameras should be set up by 7 p.m. to capture the collaboration.
This show will feature some of West Virginia’s most talented young performers, and tickets are only $12. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Clay Center’s Box Office at 304.561.3570 or by visiting www.theclaycenter.org.
ACC is excited to feature a new choir for 2009 in this concert—the canticle choir from Putnam County.
Founding and Artistic Director Selina Midkiff said this year’s show is sure to please. “This show is filled with exciting musical elements, and there’s even dancing from Arts in Action,” said Midkiff. “What a wonderful opportunity to kick off your holiday season—this is great entertainment for the entire family!”
ACC will once again collaborate with the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia for the concert. ACC teaches the importance of helping others, and children work to sell Little Red Stockings for the annual Children’s Home Society fundraiser.
