Ky. Christmas tree lighting set for Monday
FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — The holiday season kicks off early next week at the state Capitol with the lighting of Kentucky’s official Christmas tree.
The 30-foot-tall Norway Spruce will be lit Monday evening. The tree will stand in front of the Capitol.
Gov. Steve Beshear and his wife, Jane, will attend the ceremony set to begin at 6:30 p.m. EST on the Capitol steps. Youth choirs will provide entertainment.
The Christmas tree was donated by Jackie and Joyce Gritton of Lawrenceburg.
