NBC’s Kotb will address WVU journalism grads

May 06, 2009 @ 10:03 AM

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — For Hoda Kotb, one of the hosts of NBC’s “Today,” an address to journalism graduates at West Virginia University will be a homecoming.

Kotb (COT-bee) grew up in Morgantown, where her father was a professor of engineering at WVU before the family moved to Alexandria, Va.

Now co-host, along with Kathie Lee Gifford, of “Today’s” fourth hour, Kotb is also a “Dateline NBC” correspondent and hosts the network’s weekly syndicated series “Your Total Health.”

She is scheduled to address graduating seniors in the P.I. Reed School of Journalism at the school’s commencement ceremony on May 17.

Kotb says she’s looking forward to being back in Morgantown, adding that she still knows WVU’s fight song by heart.
