Blevins' father jailed for contempt of court following son's trial
HUNTINGTON -- Just moments after Jesse Blevins was convicted of manslaughter, his father found himself on the wrong side of the law Thursday afternoon.
Dwayne Scott Blevins, 48, was charged with misdemeanor contempt of family court, and was sentenced to ten days in the Western Regional Jail by Judge Alfred Ferguson.
Reports indicate the elder Blevins remained in the courtroom following his son's trial Thursday. Dwayne Blevins was asked to leave the room as courthouse personnel attempted to prepare the room for family court, which is private.
His response was a remark that included several curse words.
