Police search for suspect in assault, robbery
HUNTINGTON -- West Virginia State Police were searching for a man who Sgt. G.N. Losh said tricked his way into one man's home Thursday night.
A man living in the 3000 block of 8th Street Road suffered a few bumps to the head when he was assaulted by another man, who claimed his vehicle had broken down in the area just before 10 p.m., Losh said.
Once inside the home, Losh said the man assaulted the victim and fled the area with an undetermined amount of cash. A gun was involved in the assault, but no shots were fired, Losh said.
The victim was treated on the scene by Cabell County EMS responders.
Troopers and K-9 units were canvassing the area Thursday night, as well as talking to neighbors to see if they could provide any more information about the suspect.
