W.Va. parks participating in bird count
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Several West Virginia state parks are participating in next week’s Great Backyard Bird Count being held across the United States and Canada.
The four-day event starts Feb. 15.
Visitors can help with bird-counting activities at Blackwater Falls, Cacapon and Pipestem state parks.
Bird lovers can even take part from their own homes. Participants count birds for at least 15 minutes on one or more days, then enter their tallies at www.birdsource.org. No registration is required.
