Kentucky State Police release October report

ASHLAND, Ky. -- Kentucky State Police stationed in Ashland investigated 41 vehicle accidents during October, according to their monthly media report released this week. The Ashland Post covers Boyd, Greenup, Carter and Lawrence counties.

Zero fatalities were reported during the month. That was down from three in October 2008.

Troopers in the post issued 1,118 citations and 136 speeding tickets. Troopers also responded to 106 seat belt violations; six child restraint violations; 14 driving under the influence arrests; and 436 courtesy notices.

Troopers also responded to 957 complaints; 104 criminal investigations; 236 criminal arrests; 123 motorist assists; 1,185 inspections and participated in 31 programs.
